Become a Certified Tax Professional or CTP
The Certified Tax Professional (CTP) license enables tax professionals to distinguish themselves from their competition, builds credibility, validates knowledge, demonstrates skill, verifies experience, and confirms professional ethics.
Requirements
Tax professionals obtain the license by completing the required CTP courses, certifications, training, and experience, and agreeing to abide by the CTP Professional Code of Conduct.
CTP candidates must complete NACTP's Certified Tax Professional Program.
Each course may be substituted by an approved equivalent higher education course. Upon approval, the course is waived but you must pass the exam.
Accreditation
The Certified Tax Professional (CTP) license is accredited by Consortia Accounting School.
Consortia is a registered Postsecondary Proprietary School providing post-secondary education for educational, vocational, or professional objectives.
Continuing Professional Education
Obtain 24 hours of CPE each year beginning the year after you obtain your license.
